I offer a range of powerful, practical, modern strategies to help my clients achieve significant change in their lives. Clinical Hypnotherapy uses a combination of talking therapy and hypnosis as an effective tool for helping the client and the therapist together reach into the subconscious mind to bring about the change you are looking for.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy: I make use of a modern powerful form of talking therapy called “Solution Focused Brief Therapy”. I work with you on what you want to achieve rather than dwelling on the problems. The emphasis is on paying attention to the present and preferred future rather than the past. I encourage you to consider what would have changed if the problem had improved. This encourages your subconscious mind to consider new solutions to your problems and to work towards them.
Hypnosis: uses relaxation and visualisation to help you focus on your strengths and to encourage a shift in perspective towards a positive outlook and increased self confidence. Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness that we enter and leave naturally, throughout the day. It feels very much like ‘day dreaming’, or the state between sleeping and waking. Most of us have experienced becoming engrossed in a film or book, or finding we've driven somewhere on 'automatic pilot'. Treatment: In all, I use practical, modern and well researched strategies that include the best of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and direct hypnosis. Together these help you make significant, positive changes in your life in a relatively short period of time.
I help you succeed by awakening abilities that often appear beyond your deliberate control. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is particularly helpful with confidence and self esteem problems and is now recognised as one of the most successful interventions (if necessary in conjunction with medication) in the treatment of Depression and Anxiety (including panic attacks, agoraphobia, IBS etc).
Modern, minor phobias such as spiders, water, flying, public-speaking etc., can be treated quickly. Painful memories and traumatic experiences can often be dealt with in the same way. The use of Downloads is an integral part of therapy as it continues to focus your mind on finding solutions between sessions.
